Pang, working in progress 2018

Work in Progress: the 'pangs'  (pleasure,  absence,  nostalgia, and  grief) of being and being-ness, across the 'hoods: mother, daughter, woman.

This is a multi-part project, which includes both individual (auto-ethnographic) and collaborative elements.

Part 1: Cusp (Collaboration, 2018-)

With regards to mother(hood), I am currently collaborating on a project with two other poets, exploring the hooded-ness of being - of 'being on the cusp of' - as in: a point of transition between two states.
Using bread as a metaphor, I am exploring, through poetry, the 'pangs' of motherhood.  Video clips of a mother making bread (the foundation of some of the work in progress) can be found at this link.

Part 2: "On the night my mother is born, the room fills with water" -

Using ethnographic approaches, I will be exploring womanhood(s) in and out of the 'pangs' of language - mother tongue to other tongue; from water, to well, to woman, to water, to well, again.
